Chorealis Vocal Ensemble was formed in the spring of 2008. We are an “a cappella” group, rehearsing year round in Vernon. Our members are from Salmon Arm, Armstrong, Lumby and Kelowna as well as from Vernon.
Initially we wanted to focus on early music, with composers such as Tallis, Byrd, de Victoria and Palestrina, but we haven’t been able to resist the charms of more modern composers, both classical and popular. We have enjoyed singing music of Billy Joel, The Beatles and from Canadian composers Stephen Smith and Lionel Daunais. We've also been exploring some beautiful pieces by Camille St. Saëns, Debussy and Duruflé.
Although we began with the intention of just getting together to sing and enjoy the music, we also love to share our music with audiences. Our performing history includes senior residences, Vernon Hospice House, assorted local events and CBC Radio. We were also guest performers with the Vernon Community Singers, Aura Chamber Choir and Cascade of Choirs 2011 and 2012. In February 2011, we presented our first full concert in Vernon and are currently working towards another concert in the near future.

At the moment we have one vacancy in our bass section, so if you are a bass or baritone, please get in touch with us.
Send us an email if you are interested in singing with us. We'd love to hear from you. Our membership is limited to 12, so if there are no vacancies in your voice range, then we can place you on a waiting list. We employ a "selection process" to determine member suitability.
